Olive Oil Tasting Frantoio Bartolomei
The Frantoio Bartolomei was born towards the end of the 19th century from the strong relationship that has always linked the family to the production of oil.
Today the management is entrusted to the Brothers Carla, Rita and Pierluigi who, respecting the teachings received and with extreme passion, carry on the family work.
Thus, the cultivars of Moraiolo, Frantoio, Leccino, Nocellara del Belice and Leccio del Corno extend across the hills of Montecchio: a mix of Moraiolo, Frantoio, Leccino, Nocellara del Belice and Leccio del Corno. of native varieties and from other regions of Italy, chosen to obtain suggestive blends and authentic flavours.
In the Bartolomei Oil Museum you can take an emotional journey through the history that we have reconstructed through period illustrations and photos, machinery and old tools, for example a very rare and enormous 16th century press that only worked manually; without electricity.
The Bartolomei Brothers will guide you through the view and will tell you the story of an ancient and fascinating profession and who better than them could do it since the oil mill has been producing oil since the end of the 19th century and the passion and knowledge have been handed down from father to son
