Arrival in the afternoon in Assisi and walk to discover the city and traces of the life of Saint Clare, who as a teenager left her father’s house to follow Saint Francis and his life.

1st DAY
Arrival in the early afternoon in Roccaporena of Cascia, the birthplace of Santa Rita. You will have the opportunity to visit some of the significant places of the Saint. For the more daring we suggest climbing the Scoglio della Preghiera.
Return to the facility for dinner and overnight stay
2ND DAY
After breakfast, free walk around Cascia and visit the Basilica of Santa Rita, visit to the ancient Monastery with the most significant places in the life of Santa Rita.

FIRST DAY
Arrival in the afternoon, the first stage is between Montefalco and Bevagna, a wine-growing area made famous by Sagrantino. It will be possible to visit a cellar with wine tasting.

The day will be entirely dedicated to the discovery of the city of Perugia.

After breakfast, on returning to your destination, we suggest a stop in Gubbio, the city of the Middle Ages. Here a sightseeing tour of the city will take place with the Gubbio Express, a small train with audio guide that allows you to discover the symbolic places of the city.

Arrival in the early afternoon in the town of Corciano for a walk in the village. Following a visit to an artisanal chocolate workshop

1st day
ASSISI – SANCTUARY OF VERNA – SANSEPOLCRO (about 35 km)
Arriving in Assisi in the morning, leave the car and move by private van to the Sanctuary of La Verna, from where the first stage by bicycle begins. You can visit the suggestive sanctuary, nestled in the woods, before setting off on your bike. You will cross Pieve Santo Stefano, before skirting the lake of Montedoglio and then arriving in Sansepolcro. Dinner and overnight stay in a structure in San Sepolcro
2nd day
SANSEPOLCRO-CITY OF CASTELLO (30 KM)
You will leave Sansepolcro behind to cycle through the countryside between Tuscany and Umbria. The only climb of the day is the one, quite steep, which will lead you to the village of Citerna. From here continue towards Città di Castello, making the most of the dirt cycle path that runs along the Tiber river. Dinner and overnight stay in a structure in Città di Castello
3rd day
CITY OF CASTELLO-PIETRALUNGA (30 KM)
One of the most demanding stages of the entire Northern route, with two climbs to overcome. The first is long and regular, immersed in the woods, which alternating dirt and asphalt will lead you to Pieve de’ Saddi. The second is shorter, but steep, just before reaching Pietralunga, a small village surrounded by greenery, ideal for relaxing and resting. Dinner and overnight stay in a structure in Pietralunga
4th day
PIETRALUNGA-GUBBIO (24 KM)
Leaving behind Pietralunga, you will cycle on roads immersed in the green of the Umbrian nature, almost completely free of traffic. Also in this stage you will have to face two climbs, but not too demanding. The last kilometers before arriving in the heart of Gubbio will be completely flat. Dinner and overnight stay in Gubbio
5° day
GUBBIO-VALFABBRICA (33 KM)
In the morning sightseeing tour of the city with the Gubbio Express. Another stage that flows through the nature of the Umbrian Apennines and which will bring you significantly closer to Assisi. Along the way you will have to face two climbs, which will give you wonderful views of the surrounding valleys before arriving in the small historic village of Valfabbrica. Dinner and overnight stay in a structure in Valfabbrica
6th day
VALFABBRICA-ASSISI (22 KM)
Assisi is now upon us and the few kilometers to go will allow you to arrive easily. You will only have to overcome a few ups and downs in the first part of the day, while the last kilometers, which alternate dirt and asphalt, flow in the Umbrian plain from where you can already see the unmistakable profile of Assisi. A three-day proposal in one of the most beautiful areas of Umbria, combining the attractions of Spoleto and charming towns such as Sant’Anatolia, Scheggino, Ferentillo, and Arrone, with the untouched nature of the Valnerina, before concluding in front of the stunning spectacle of the Marmore Falls. You will cycle along the scenic route of the former Spoleto-Norcia railway, from Spoleto to Sant’Anatolia di Narco, the section richest in viaducts and tunnels, and then along the Greenway that runs along the Nera River, taking you to the waterfalls, always away from traffic.
Day 1
Individual arrival in Spoleto. The historic centre is full of artistic and cultural beauties. In addition, in every period of the year it offers entertainment opportunities such as festivals, shows, displays. A city on a human scale, ideal to discover on foot or even by bike, an optimal starting point for our tours.

Day 2 – Spoleto-Castel San Felice (20km)
A truly suggestive itinerary, which will allow you to pedal along the route of the former Spoleto-Norcia railway, facing tunnels and viaducts that will take you into the greenery of the Valnerina. The first part of the fraction is all uphill, while the second is downhill. The slopes are never challenging.

Day 3 – Castel San Felice-Marmore Falls (30km)
A route that alternates asphalt and dirt and runs along the Nera River, immersed in the nature of the Valnerina and away from traffic. You will cross the villages of Sant’Anatolia di Narco, Scheggino, Ferentillo and Arrone before arriving at the Marmore waterfall.

FRIDAY
Arrival in the Lake Trasimeno area
After settling into your accommodation, you will be welcomed to Umbria with a wine tasting at a local winery.
Overnight stay in Passignano sul Trasimeno
SATURDAY
The day will be spent entirely on bicycles. Depart in the morning from Passignano sul Trasimeno towards Castiglione del Lago. The route follows the lake on an unpaved road, transforming into a pleasant cycling and walking path on gravel and compacted earth, with numerous pedestrian bridges and picnic areas. The scenery of the reed beds and the ease with which you can spot wildlife in this part of the protected area of Lake Trasimeno, merit numerous stops that allow you to take in the views of the lake.
Lunch on your own
A brief stop will be made at the Campo del Sole and the shores of Tuoro sul Trasimeno, the site of the “Battle of Trasimeno” which took place on June 24, 217 BC, where Hannibal’s Carthaginian army defeated the Roman army.
Return by bike.
Overnight stay
SUNDAY
In the morning, a mini-cruise will take you to Isola Maggiore, one of the three islands of the lake, and the only one inhabited. It hosted St. Francis during an entire Lent. The small village consists of a single street entirely paved with stones, lined with 13th-14th century houses, including the charming House of the Captain of the People.

FIRST DAY
Arrival in Spoleto in the early afternoon for a free walk to discover the city with a glorious past. Children will be fascinated by the new mechanized escalator route which from the very convenient Ponzianino car park leads up to the Rocca Albornoziana and the Ponte delle Torri.

SECOND DAY
After breakfast, when the weather is good the day will be totally dedicated to an active outdoor experience. For example, a section of the route of the Vecchia Ferrovia Spoleto – Norcia can be done by bike. The railway was inaugurated in 1926 and, for the time, represented a real engineering masterpiece in just over 50 kilometres, including helical tunnels and the daring bridge over the Cortaccione stream. The railway was closed in 1968 and, after many years of inactivity, in July 2014 the current cycle/pedestrian path was inaugurated on the route of the old railway, which can now be traveled up to Piedipaterno.

After breakfast, before returning to your destination, we suggest a stop in Sant’Anatolia di Narco where the Museo della Canapa is located. In the renovated spaces of the Museum, the themes of the cultivation and exploitation of hemp both in the domestic and in the productive sphere find a more effective illustration; the tools for working and weaving are on display, as well as the rich collection of textile artefacts from the area, donated by families.

FIRST DAY
In reaching Umbria, the first stop on this itinerary is the small village of Rasiglia, the little Venice of Umbria, the village of waters and streams, which alternate with bridges and narrow streets.

SECOND DAY
After breakfast, the family will have a real full immersion in the nature of Valnerina. In the morning, one of the most “active” outdoor experiences, rafting. Paths with various degrees of difficulty suitable for everyone, including children. The dinghy is operated by an expert guide who will give instructions on how to descend. Everything necessary for the descent will be provided (wetsuit, helmet, paddle, etc.) all in maximum safety.
In the afternoon, on the other hand, you can choose routes on foot or by bicycle and e-bike, including a stretch of the “Vecchia Ferrovia Spoleto – Norcia” from S. Anatolia di Narco to Piedipaterno.

After breakfast and before returning to your destination, we suggest a walk dedicated to food and wine in Norcia, the family will be able to do some shopping among truffles, cheeses and butcheries.
